One cannot learn the all the skills of needed for efficient financial modelling in a short half-day seminar. However, Financial Mechanics has designed a short introduction to some basic principles that will steer attendees in the right direction, using a simple spreadsheet that reflects basic market operation, e.g. dispatch by plant type with different shape load-duration curves.
For those who actively build or manipulate spreadsheets, the seminar will scratch the surface on techniques that Financial Mechanics has developed over 10 years of financial modelling training. For those who use and review financial models, the seminar will provide an introduction to how models should be designed and how to move around and analyze a well-built, albeit very small, financial model.
This is a hands-on seminar with limited lecturing from PowerPoint slides. To get the most value, participants should expect to bring a laptop and actively follow along with the instructor.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND:
This is a short introductory seminar. Elements of the agenda will be helpful for anyone that wants to improve his/her manipulation of Excel for forecasting business performance, for those that are interested in an introduction to recognized best-of-class design techniques summarised in the FAST Modeling Method (see www.fast-modeling.net), and those that would simply like to improve techniques for moving around and reviewing existing financial models.
Attitude is more important than title or job role. If you’d like some quick hands on experience into the tradecraft of financial modelling, then you will find the half-day very useful. Consider it a ‘day at the track’ under expert instruction, not a course that will prepare you to win a rally.
